Medico-legal

The following fees will apply to medico-legal work, with effect from 1 January 2003:

Standard Medical Report £350
Includes notification of appointment, interview and examination of client.  Does not include cost of any X-rays, or other investigations, and does not include time spent examining medical records, over and above the first hour.

Medical Report - clinical negligence £400
Includes notification of appointment, interview and examination of client.  Does not include cost of any X-rays, or other investigations, and does not include time spent examining medical records over and above first hour.

Failure to attend appointment (any reason) £100
At least five working days notice is required of any cancellation to avoid this fee being payable.

Examination of medical records and/or X-rays (per hour) £200

Court attendance per day, or part thereof £1300
This fee is payable regardless of whether actually called into Court, and therefore specifically includes time spent waiting outside Court.

Cancellation fee for Court attendance
If Court date is cancelled, with 48 hours notice or less, the whole fee for the warned dates is payable.

If Court date is cancelled with notice of 48 hours - one week, half fee is payable.

Attendance at legal conference (per hour, or part thereof) £200
Motoring expenses extra. Time measured from leaving city centre of Liverpool.

Correspondence (per letter) £50
Additional fee payable if more than four weeks since previous correspondence, at a rate varying with the amount of re-reading of material that is required.

Payment
Payment for medical reports is expected within three months from date of issue.
